Harley-Davidson® Africa has moved forward with big steps to improve their dedication and commitment to our customers in several ways. One very important aspect of this was that of developing a Technical Training Centre for South African Harley-Davidson® Technicians.
Having highly trained Technicians work on your Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is paramount ,along with the introduction of the new Milwaukee-Eight® Power Unit (with its new electronic system) Technicians need to be continuously up to date with new technologies, however sending Technicians overseas to attend courses at Harley-Davidson® Universities is also very costly and time consuming for South African Dealerships.
The introduction of a Harley-Davidson® University Technical Training Centre (which is now situated in Pretoria) has been established and our very own Master Technician, Trevor De Jager, is officially the first (ever) South African Harley-Davidson® Instructor! Trevor has recently returned from a 5 day Technical Training Conference in Bonn, Germany, where he completed the Technical Training for the all-new Model Year 18 Softail® models. Trevor has completed nearly 200 online and Instructor Led Courses with Harley-Davidson® University and is today, the highest qualified Technician in Africa!
We are proud to have him as part of the team here at Harley-Davidson® Durban and as an inspiration to his colleagues.
